Quick summary: Picky? helps you share dietary preferences and food allergy information only with the people you choose—like hosts, planners, or caterers. You control what’s shared, with whom, and for how long. We don’t sell your data.

Information we collect

  • Account & contact info (e.g., name, email) if you create an account or join the waitlist.

  • Dietary profile details you choose to add (e.g., allergies, intolerances, preferences, favorite/avoid ingredients).

  • Technical data such as device type and usage logs for security and to improve the app.

How your information is shared

  • You decide who sees your dietary profile. Sharing happens only when you send a private link or access code to someone (e.g., a host or caterer).

  • You can limit or revoke access at any time, and links can be set to auto-expire.

  • We may use trusted service providers (e.g., cloud hosting, email) who only process data on our behalf and under strict confidentiality.

What we do with your information

  • Show your dietary profile to the specific people you’ve selected.

  • Help hosts and caterers plan inclusive menus and manage cross-contact risks.

  • Operate, secure, and improve Picky? (e.g., troubleshooting, analytics).

Your choices & controls

  • View, edit, or delete your dietary profile at any time.

  • Revoke or expire previously shared links.

  • Opt out of non-essential emails by using unsubscribe links.

Data retention

  • We keep your account and profile data until you delete it or your account is closed.

  • Shared links and related access logs are kept only as long as needed for the purpose you set (e.g., until a link expires).

Security

  • We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data.

  • No system is 100% secure; please use strong passwords and share links wisely.

Children

  • Picky? is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your local law). If you believe a child provided data, contact us to remove it.

International use

  • Your data may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate, with safeguards in place.

Changes to this policy

  • We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll notify you by email or in-app.
